I have bought and fitted the carbon cabin filters made by Mahle (Germany).In the UK they are about half the price of the BMW ones, but not as cheap as those eBay items.I think I would be put off by the very low price.
i have a set of brand new aftermarket ones and never got a chacne to install since i sold my car. if you want them paypal me $40 and ill ship 'em to ya.

my car started to have a smell now when the cabin gets hot.. is that because of my filter being bad?? i clean the cabin from the top to bottom and still there is a smell.
not necessarily. you could have dirty air ducts
