I bought my tires from tirerack.com they're the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position. The fronts are 245-40-18 $233 each and the rears were 275-35-18 and they were $272 each for a total of $1040 for the tires. If I would have gone with 19's they would have been $275 front and $305 for the rear tires for a total of $1160.

The rear pilots in 19's are $382 each and the fronts are $338 each for a total of $1440. $1571-1440=$131 I think it's a good deal considering he is mounting and balancing the wheels. My recommendation is to go with a lower priced tire. the pole positions are excellent tires and those are the ones I have on my car.

On top of all this your getting OEM wheels with a 25% discount from Gary.

Looking at the numbers it looks just about right. If you shop around you may save $100 dollars or so it's up to you.

Rick.

Buy the tires at tire rack and find out from them who mounts the tires in your area. Tire Rack has associated tire stores who will do the job.
Here is Tire Rack's quote for what I "think" are the right tires for M166 offsets????

I am still unclear which exact tire to get if the rims are 19 x 8.5 in the front and 19 x 9.5 in the back. And why is it recommended to have 35 profile in the front yet have 30 in the rear? Why not 30 in the front as well as the back? I'm not sure on the reasoning behind it.

You are researching the correct sized tires for front and rear, so don't worry about the "why" for now re: the 30 vs 35 profile sizes.

If you're in a pinch, have you considered General Exclaim UHP (ultra-high performance) tires? $660 for all 4 tires with road hazard warranty, $600 excluding.

Here's a quick-quote for a set of staggered 19" tires (245/35/19 fronts with 275/30/19 rears)

Search the forum for feedback regarding these tires. You'd be surprised with the quality you get for the price. It was tested by Tirerack.com. These also received great ratings in Europe... Good luck!

Btw, if you want 18" staggered BMW style 124s with tires, I've got a set for sale. PM me. Perfect condition.

To answer your question , I don't really know..hahahah But what I can tell you is that in 18" the front is 245-40 and rear is 275-35 if you go to 19" then it's 245-35 and the rear is 275-30. I believe it's to compensate for the diameter of the circle if your going staggered. If you were not going staggered then they would be the same size all around which would be 245-40 in 18" or 245-35 in 19".
