Not saying I'm going to be the test mule that installs this on my 5 and voids my warranty, messes up my engine bay and probably sets off EVERY sensor and alarm in my car's computer, but nonetheless it's interesting to read about. Any thoughts anyone?

If I was to take that big of a risk, it would NOT be on a kit from Ebay!!

An Ebay search yeilded a number of these for a variety of vehicles. Fourteen positive testimonials.

Maybe the theory is that with Hydrogen in the car it will be lighter on the road and thus consume less fuel. Makes sense, but I doubt to too many E60ers.

I haven't looked at the technical details (are they any??) - but this looks like total BS. One part says it is a fuel cell system, and one part says it is a hydrogen injection system. Two totally different things. Fuel cells combine hydrogen and oxygen to produce water and electricity. Fuel injection burns hydrogen in the engine. Both systems are in use in concept cars at the moment (BMW has a hydrogen combustion 7 series, I believe). Where does the actual hydrogen come from in this system? There's no high pressure cryogenic hydrogen tank in the picture so I assume it is made in situ. You can make it from ethanol/methane/gas/water using a chemical reaction and/or electricity, but frankly, you'll get more efficiency just burning the stuff rather than making it into hydrogen then burning that anyway.

Avoid like the plague...
