Good luck!

(Pls Ben correct me if I'm wrong)

And now?
I think dealers must have guides/instructions to replace the unit in case of failure. (+ we need PDF to unmount the dashboard)

Alex and other users, i have to let you know that the RLS (non HUD, 309 and equivalents) can be flashed the 310 software with success and have the HUD function correctly with the sunlight.
For this you have to use winKFP with expert and flash the file ...310A.
i had to do it once in expert to change the BMW number to 310 and it failed at the end, then did it again thru confort and choose version and all went ok

hope it helps ppl save money and time doing the retrofit

hi,
the non-hud RLS does not have straight light sensor to get the light value in front of our hood. So how can it adjust HUD brightness correctly?

Mine square one does adjust brightness correctly...
i havent disassembled it but from the outside looks to have the exact same sensors both in 309 and 310.
anyway, it works

Hi,

Has anyone got details pictures about the mechinical fixture parts of the HUD projector (pre-lci)?
Parts received from the junkyard this week..however did not see where and how to mount the 2x black brackets (most likely number 7 and 8 from ETK HUD), besides the assembly of the height adjuster

Clear pictures well appreciated,

Thanks,

Default HUD sub harness diagram?

I have a customer with a 2010 M5, without HUD. He also has a 08 M5 with HUD as a donor. I have the HUD, dashboard, and related parts to do the swap from him. And with this parts list, I assume ill have everything I need to complete this retrofit. Although, I have not seen a single thread of a wiring diagram reference to build this sub-harness. I guess I could look up the 08's harness and copy that, but from a glance that vehicle's body harness has the HUD connector built into it, there is no sub-harness present. Does anyone have a thread on them actually performing this retrofit and building their sub-harness?

I have everything installed, but it seems the HUD is not working. Does this need to be coded in?

installed in a 2010 525i.

Default RLS wiring diagram

I've used this thread to retrofit the HUD. All is done and working, but I keep getting an error for the new RLS (the one that works with HUD)
I think I messed up the wiring... can anyone tell me what the pin out is for the RLS?
The original RLS was round with 3 pins, the new one is rectangular with 4pins (the windshield was replaced to the HUD windshield, so the new sensor is installed correctly, but doesn't seem to be wired correctly)
any help is appreciated. Thanks.
