Yes there is, but it's in german.
However, Google translate will help you out.

Hi,
I have all the parts. The tech doing the work looked at the instructions and is worried about splicing into the wiring harness. Is there a way to hook this up without cutting into the harness? If not, is there someone kind enough to provide detailed instructions on how to go about splicing into the harness? We spent a lot of time looking through the german DIY, but it's very difficult to get the details from it with Google translate. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve,

random question, on these HUD retrofits, do you really need a new windshield? is there anyway to use the old one? is it a matter of better visibility/reflection or no visibility at all?

You won't see anything without a polarized section of glass.

During the night it is ok but during daylight, it is very hard to see anything clearly.

I think you can test this pretty good with your phone.
Turn up the brightness and put it where the HUD would be.
I'd say that's roughly the same.. Just to see whether visibility would be good or not.
The HUD is probably a bit brighter than the phone but I haven't done this (don't have a HUD either).

this is pretty cool. but I must admit, pulling the dash makes me very nervous. I can probably do it, but my concern (and experience) is that dashboards never go back in the right way and they squeak and creak like mad.
has anyone experienc ethey can share with how they fared from squeaks and creaks after they put back the dash?
thanks

I'm going through the same thoughts on My x5. Can be a reasonable upgrade but the windshield takes it up to a whole new level in cost.

I retrofitted HUD into my 06 525i today and not successful.
I can still see the display in the HUD from the plastic display but it does not reflect onto the windscreen. I cannot see anything on the windshield though I can see the speed on the small display inside the HUD. Any ideas? Or is it a faulty HUD unit?

the HUD is like a projector. If there is no reflection, there should be insufficient power to the HUD. HUD consumes lot of power so you have to connect you 12V pin to the battery at the trunk. Check that and revert please
