How would you fix the scratches?

Forgot to mention, you can take the back panels off without disconnecting the battery, but for the front doors you must disconnect the battery due to the airbag in the door. There is also a screw located underneath the "airbag" plastic piece on the front panels. Search the forum or google, there is a DIY for door panel removal somewhere. I couldn't figure out how to disconnect the wire to the airbag and didnt want to test my luck with accidently deploying the airbag so I didn't fully remove the front panels.

Just repainted mine. I used a plastic scraper to remove the bulk of the paint, and then I used alcohol pads to remove the rest, and it worked great. I have been so satisfied with the results now that I'm finished with the painting! I repainted 3/4 window switch panels (1 wasn't bad), the rear seat center console and the front center console. It makes the car look SO much better! I couldnt stand the flaking paint!! You might want to pick up door panel clips before starting. Several of mine broke when taking off the door. You can get 20 on eBay for under $10. Just search BMW door panel clips and you'll get a ton of results. Good luck!

I used duplicolor primer and duplicolor vinyl and fabric spray paint, which is what someone else on the board suggested who had positive results. I would recommend trying something different. I had great results, but it wasn't easy. It took many coats, sanding off the paint, and re-spray painting to get consistent/even results. The paint is EXTREMELY sensitive to distance and speed at which you move the nozzle across the piece being painted. I spray painted one section at a time, starting in the rear and then going to the front pieces over several months as time would permit. I did it like this instead of all at one time because I knew that the front pieces would be more visible, and each time I painted a piece I discovered a way to make it look more perfect. For some reason, all of the pieces in the back had a more eggshell texture and the pieces in front have a more flat texture (and yes I did double check to make sure I was using the exact same paint). Both look great, just different. No one would ever know, unless I pointed it out to them, so I didn't try to change anything.
