ive got the Dinan intake thats pictured in this thread w/ dual RPi scoops....its literally worth it for the asthetics alone! lol (see the attached pic of my car).

but seriously tho, i have a few performance mods so i dont know which ones are the total game changer but i eat other 545i and 550i for breakfast anytime i see one.....and its far better when im on the freeway and have 75mph of cold air being optimized by those RPi scoops.
i say if you are thinking about this mod, pull the trigger! (but only after an aftermarket tune....and exhaust....and throttle body....*cough* Dinan *cough* )

umichchris: How did you get the RPI scoop for the left (passenger) side? Did they custom make you one to fit on that side? I've been torn between the RPI kit for cheap, or just putting that money toward the Dinan kit.

if you have a V8 (which by your signature it looks like u have a 550i) then the Dinan intake is a dual air intake system. if you look closely at my pic you will see a (real) carbon fiber tube that connects the left and right side to the air intake box....the RPi scoops connect to then ends...to my understanding this is the same way its treated on the M5 and 6 Series V8s as well...
to be honest, on a sunny day, after a wash.....i can think of nothing better than those two bright red scoops hiding behind my gloss black grills.... barreling down on some slow moving traffic on the freeway....it must be a really intimidating sight to see in their rearview mirrors

Your car looks awesome, especially with the red. I went ahead and ordered the RPI kit, just can't beat the price, and I got the red scoop. Hopefully it'll look cool on Alpine White.
