hello,
just as the title asks, im curious to know if buying the hi performance coils with hotter spark is worth the money.. sold on bav auto for a decent price. just wondering if its worth the time and money.

I haven't heard any good things about them. Maybe look into the Okada Projects coils. Was a review in performance BMW about decent gains on a e39 M5. But they're pricey.

Bill, just stick with OEM for coils. Even the Okada's give you minimal performance increase but maximum financial cost.

interesting to hear there isnt much good to say about them... really wanted to try them.
is it a lack of performance upgrade for the money or are you putting your engine at harm/ risk?
the bav auto magazine says there will be a noticable gain.. theyre also trying to sell the product, but there has to be some truth to it.

A 'hotter' spark doesn't give a better ignition compared to an already hot enough spark, which new stock coils will give you. You would get the same improvement over worn original stock coils if you replaced those with stock.
This is close to the 'cold air' intake upgrade, in terms of improvement - nil!
