I was very lucky to buy my mirrors from Ebay for a very good price, in fact D-sport on here sold them however you can buy them from the dealerships in the region of £600!!!

It just depends how much you really want folding mirrors

To be honest it`s a good option to have, I do a lot of night driving so having the side mirrors dim makes a lot of sense.

I have 2007 E60 LCI 530xD with non-folding mirrors.
So, what are the parts I need to buy to install the folding mirrors?

Hi, I have an LCI 530d (production date 09/07) and would like to fit folding mirrors, i don't have elec memory seats and was either told it wasnt possible or that so much re-wiring is required that it just isn't worth it. I have also read that not much re-wiring is required and its pretty much a sraight swap with a new switch panel.

So, i'm confused whether I can fit folding mirrors or not. Price of mirrors is not an issue, just need to know what's involved and who can do it, any specialists out there that can do this?

For it will be difficult to fit the mirrors, you car is the same setup as mine and some new wiring is needed, it`s not terribly difficult but very time consuming, also your car will need coding.

Get your self upto 10 posts and then PM me to discus it, by the way where abouts in the UK are you?.

I'm in Redhill, Surrey. I really want this done, as I have a tight parking space at home and roads are narrow. Thanks would like to know exactly wants needed. My dealer where I bought the car refused to do because they don't know how.

Sorry, one more question and I guess it helps my post count. Does fitting the folding mirrors automatically give me the auto tilt mirrors on the passenger side mirrors when in reverse?

No, if you manage to source the correct date for the mirror to be retrofitted and you are able to get them to work with coding and some extra wiring you will not get auto tilt to work; Auto tilt only works if you have memory seats I beleive.

On a seperate note, most things can be retrofitted, it all depends how much you want to spend.

The BMW SA's aren't usually that helpful because in general they dont know how to retrofit items and just try to fob you off.

Good luck in sourcing the correct parts for your MY car.
