Okay slight update, fitted my mirrors today, quite straight forward, however removing my old mirrors I only had one plug, the new mirrors have 3 connectors, I have plugged two of them in but cant see where the third connector goes?

Once fitted the mirrors seem all okay and the work fine, haven't yet got them coded to fold, so does anyone know what the third wire is? (the red one on the pic)?

The new mirrors are auto fold, chromatic glass and puddle lights.

Seems to be a case of wrong model year ... Your car has a single plug w/ 3 (maybe 4) wires?

AFAIK car w/ only 1 connector is from Sept. 2005 and newer which has the KGM (Body Gateway Module) behind the glove box while car w/ 3 connectors is before Sept. 2005 that using Door Module on each door.

Hmm not sure then ...
How many wires on your car (not the new mirror)? In my case I only got 1 plug w/ only 3 wires.

The original mirror which was removed had one connector on it and 5 wires leading to that connector.

The new folding mirror had 3 connectors, 2 of the connectors plugged into the existing door module, however the small red connector I cant seem to find anywhere for it to plug in?

One plug is for glass heating and elelctrachrome dimming, one plug is for folding and glass position control, the other i suspect is for the puddle lights but searching the WDS is not telling me where it connects to.

The Red plug is for the EC glass.

Hi 530D Lee, I am keen to have the folding mirrors retrofitted to my 2004 E60. Where did you source the parts from? I have rang various stealerships up and they tell me folding mirrors can't be retrofitted; I simply dont buy this. If anyone is selling a set of folding mirrors with the highgloss shadowline I would be interested.

On a kind of related issue, I am also in the market for some highgloss shadowline trim to replace my matte black trim

Thanks in advance.

Old car didnt have memory seats, new does, I think this means correct module is present for the fold option? Can I use the remote to fold so I dont have to change switch bank, although if have to can do this in future. Any advise, comments or **ss takes accepted Thanks!!
If i understand it correctly, the electronic system for door mirror up to 9/2005 and onwards is different. Old mirrors pre 9/2005 can not be installed on new cars and vice versa. Old system has window module and the door mirror has more cables, whilst new one has only 3 cables.

Never listen to the SA`s they are trained to think were stupid, Im living proof it`s possible to retrofit SA430 but how hard or how easy it is will depend on your model year.
