Nail polish remover wont damage my paint?
It should not if you keep the exposure to a minimum. It is considerably better than alcohols (like oven cleaner and brake cleaner) that soak into the paint finish longer because they evaporate slower than acetone.

A little acetone will be fine.

NOOOOOOOOOO

THATS NOT TRUE!!! ... Acetone is the solvent that would get rid and clean stuff by dissolve everything.. Thats how we clean stuff in lab if it doesnt dissolve with alcohol or something like that... so especially paint, it will ruin the clear coat and others because it can chew up clear coat... nail polish remover is same as acetone...

Oh man... Paints and clear coats have changed quite a bit.

The clear coat will not be damaged by using a _little_ acetone.

The reason you use acetone in your lab is because alcohols tend to have water in them... so it's not a completely 'clean' solvent to begin with.

A little acetone will be fine as long as that damned paint is vinyl.
