I went to that ebayers store ... I wonder how he puts those packages together at those prices? He says wheels are "used" on the wheels so I suspect they are refurbed originals. The tires are not the priciest and his feedback is quite good.
Another option is detroit wheel and tire for refurbed wheels, even the wheels you are looking for are not listed just give them a call...

I checked them when I was looking for my wheels...

172's are nice, but more common than Hartge.
I would say go for Hartge. Both rims are a pain in the.. to clean.

get the 172 rims and use the rest of the money to buy Mtech or M5 kit. You don't have to take my words for it.
i totally agree!! it would make a huge difference than just getting wheels

I've actually been to that eBay seller's shop. I went there about two months ago with my friend to buy a set of used oem BMW wheels/tires for his E39. It is a very professional shop, they have a road force balancing machine, etc. The wheels/tires that my friend bought were oem BMW and in very good shape. The 172's that you see in that eBay listing ARE brand new, but they are NOT oem BMW wheels......they are replicas. They are much better replicas than many other replicas that I've seen and if I'm not mistaken they even have the correct hub size for the E60 which is almost unheard of in replicas....but nevertheless they are NOT oem BMW 172's.

my only input would be that the 172s are a bitch to clean , had them on my 07, put 166s and dustless pads on my 08 !!

I know this is a late post to this thread, but those 172's look great. I just bought a 2009 535i, coming from the sport wheels of the e90 335i, so it actually seems like I took a downgrade in the wheel dept.

So next year I will probably buy the 172's when I need new tires. The wife will castrate me if I buy new wheels now. I am lucky I got the car!

Are replicas a good idea?
