I have an E60 2007 530i and need your advice for RIMS.
I have an option between:
Hartge 21'' Classic ii rims = $3000 with tires
OR
BMW 19'' OEM 550 Sport Rims #172 = 1500 with new tires
Can the 2007 530's hold the 21'' rims?
I know the Hartge are usually M5 rims, but i talked to a couple of rim shops and they say the 5-series can handle up to 22's...
Does anyone here have the 21 inch Hartge Classic 2 rims on a non M 5-series?
I know the 550 rims fit, but i was wondering about the Hartge before i made a FINAL decision!
I have to make it in the next day or so....

I would go with the OEM BMW Style 172m, they look really clean. Depends on what you are going for.
BTW, How are you able to get OEM 172's with New tires for only $1500??? Are the Wheels also New?
I am looking for 166's but if $1500 is possible, I wouldn't mind getting the 172's.

The Hartge rims are used but 75-80% tread left
I was going to get the 166's but I saw them everywhere now -

Go with the 21" Hartge's. An M5Board member, here in NY, has them on his Silverstone M5 and they look SICK. M5, 550, 530 or 525, they will still look AMAZING, regardless of what car you put them on. Get 'em!

I'd go for 19" OEM rims. I experienced a pothole this other day with my new 19"s (even made a thread about it 
) and I'm happy I didn't go for any bigger wheels. But if you're sure you can avoid potholes and others, those Hartges would look sick!

Especially when you do not have a sport suspension. The gap between the wheels and the fender would be way to large for 21"!

I'd go for 172 OEM rims .. they are the best for E60 (166 OEM for E61)

yeah - i'm set to go with the 19's they are better for the car - (unless I can get the hartge's for 2K!!!)
After referencing the Hartge site I found that I would have to perform some of the following:
3 - Reworking the bumper panelling in the region of the wheel arch.

So while the 172 19's don't get me in the Dub club....
I can keep the stock look
I can still turn corners like a 6-series (almost

I won't have to worry about pot holes/bumps/curbs on the road to the point I don't enjoy driving my car
I won't have to pay 300+ a wheel in case they pop
I get NEW wheels/tires with a fresh look they just released this year.
