IMHO, its a waste of money! the stock strut bar is well sufficient enough!

True. I would say a mixture of both, I really doubt that the way those two allen bolts snug up to the machined shock mounts would add a noticeable amount of rigidity. But for $80 it's almost a 'why not?' purchase, if it doesn't work out at least you have some moderate engine dressing. I couldn't imagine, however, a circumstance where much beyond the stock handling of the E60 would be needed - at least for street driving. Having sport suspension and 20's makes my car pretty fun getting onto onramps, but the fun ends there because I like my license.
