Has there been released anything better than Dension Gateway 500 ?
I find Dension Gateway 500 a bit glitchy.
I wonder if there's anything better out there now? (to hook up video / hdd etc)

I thought that Dension had released a new unit recently. Alternatively if you have a Apple product, you may be able to attach a airplay device and do stream wirelessly in conjunction with it. I'm overally happy with my Dension, I only use it with controls from the phone, since going thru playlist on iDrive can be buggy.
The whole point of the Dension is integration with idrive control. If it works better when control is done through your ipod/phone then it is no better than an aux-in. Actually the Dension would be much worse as it costs 10 times as much to get the same "functionality".
I would be livid if I had paid full retail for my Dension.

NBT is the newest-generation iDrive. The chronological order is CCC > CIC > NBT. Because NBT uses Ethernet for communication (which our E60s don't support natively), it is more complicated and expensive to retrofit NBT than CIC. Since the NBT was never offered on the E60 (unlike the CCC and CIC), a hardware emulator is required to perform protocol translation between the NBT and the rest of the car.
