Has anyone done a successful lumbar Mod / retrofit?

I found a set up instruction for a retrofit on an E36. It looks reasonable. Maybe 6 hours or so of work and some money for parts. I was wondering if an E60 mod would be the same basic concept, or if the wiring is more difficult?
I really need some lumbar support in this car.
