Guys, if you have the $$$$ to do the install, which would you pick NOS or Supercharger? Why?
An SC. With an SC, there is a predictable rate of wear, no risk of grenading the engine if there is a fuel system problem, no plumbing to the rear (and associated risks of plumbing failure over time), no solenoids to fail, chance for warranty coverage, and, most importantly, no damn bottles to refill.

ASR Engineering makes a system for the M5 that is BADA*S......lots of guys who have put LOTS of miles on them.......150hp.....but you are only gonna get 120is secs out of it....comes on at WOT only....and $$.....about 6500 installed.

That question is loaded with variables. For out-of-the-box with little additional engine mods, you should be able to attain a +100hp on an E60 V8 blown. Spraying with nitrous may give you the same result, though at greater risk. Of course, nitrous can be done for under $1500, whereas the cheapest E60 V8 supercharger is gonna run you close to, or over, 5 digits installed for what may be similar power gains. Still, in the end, a properly maintained SC would be the most consistantly reliable option, as quality of nitrous, bottle temperature, etc, wouldn't be a factor.
