NOS is similar to a SC. Just don't abuse it like over boosting above 40% of your current HP. There was a member that installed a NOS system (quite complicated) but it's capable (if that's what you are asking). Personally, I don't see anything wrong or injustice with NOS on an e60.

As far as performance increase for the dollar. Nitrous on you 525i is going to give you the most for the money. I'm pretty sure it do able though finding someone knowledgeable (on BMW's) to do it maybe the hard part.

My Ride: 2007 530i, Full M-Tech kit, CF Hamann front lip, M5 trunk lid, 20" iForged swift, LCI Tail Lights, Remus Quad Exhaust.
Fast and Furious: Euro anyone?!?!?!? I can't really imagine the 5 with nitrous nor have I seen someone do it, but im pretty sure theres someone out there with a 525 that would just love to see the facial expression of a 550 driver when they leave them behind. If I did it, Complete stock sleeper.

My Ride: 2004 jet black 530I, M-tech body kit, ac shnitzer roof and trunk spoiler. kelleners sport exhaust and pully kit on its way from germany.
If you live in LA you can go to EVOSPORT. They have some good mechs there. I seen them put nos on an SL55 and i was pushing 600 at the wheels when sprayed.

with the 535 you can install CO2 on the intercooler for some extra power.

i just remembered. i recall someone here having spray on their e60. the set up was like individual cans in the engine bay. anyone else recall this? can't find that thread with that specific picture. it was a while back.
