On the face of it this shows an incredible increase. Has anyone done this?

Thanks,

37% increase in hp and 47% in torque! Wow, that 3 litre engine must be really undertuned from the factory!!!

Interesting in that the 530d only gets 4hp and 7Nm more from a significantly higher starting point...

In next april/may i am going to do it. Increases in hp/torque seem indeed exaggerated, but acc. to the Dutch importer (who performs the job) stated numbers are true and honest. And no, I won't get a Dyno run.

Very impressive figures. My 535d with DMS remap (one of, if not the best, in the UK) produces 338bhp / 695Nm.

I understand that the 525d, 530d and 535d all have the _same_ engine, although the 535d does get a second turbo.

So - if that's true, why would anybody buy a 530d ... why not a 525d and get it remapped. Are there any other differences engine wise?

Apparently, yes, but no-one has confirmed 100% yet. Even if the turbo is 'smaller' or the manifolds/exhaust is different it's not almost ?4k different!

Only difference between 525d and 530d is slightly different alloys, 'free' metallic paint and the option of Sports Auto Tranny...

I was in Germany last month with my LCI 525d and I was planning to do this.. I called Hartge and they quoted 1595? for the job. I didn't bite the bullet (yet).

Having spoken to the UK dealer, they say the claim is an error and the output should read 231bhp and not 271bhp.

This would accord with claims of others which come in around the 235bhp to 245bhp mark.

I have asked Hartge.de to clarify.

I have read lots of posts aboout remapped 325d (same engine) and there are conflicting views on what a remap can achieve.

I will see what else i can find out.

+1

I still haven't got to the bottom of the differences. I have had different BMW techs tell me no differece other than map to smaller turbo and injctors.

These guys have been talking about this a lot!
