I love Llumar tint. I had it on my E39 and now on my E60. The key to getting tint though, is to ask the guy to "Microedge" it. This leaves NO gap between the top of the window (when it's rolled down half way) and the top of the tint. It makes the tint look stock and there's no ugly gap, which most tint places do. Unless you ask for microedging, they won't do it. It's tedious and they'd rather pump out your car and go to the next.

So the next time you get your car tinted, ask them to Microedge it!

Nice car bro! I got my tint (20%) and clear bra done in July, very happy on how it turned out. Haha I recently got pulled for my windows tho, anyone know how much the fine is if i just leave them on? (CA. resident)
THANKS!!
You'll get pulled for 20% on the fronts for sure. I don't think its a fine if you leave them on. I believe failure to fix the citation is pretty much like failure to appear. You have to fix it or go to jail. Of course after the ticket is signed off and you pay your 10 bucks you can re-offend again as I don't think they keep records of priors.

I didn't know about that but the guy did a good job with only a slight edge gap. I got the new Llumar Axcess which is supposed to be pretty good stuff. I sure like it so far. Heat reduction, glare reduction, color all are very good. I would probably go a shade lighter on the back mostly because of he self dimming mirror making it a little hard to see out the back at night. If it were a normal mirror it would be fine at 15 as it is great during the day.

Really? During my one and only Cali tint stop (years ago) I was informed that NO additional (other than stock window color) tint on fronts is allowed. If that's changed, I'd like to know, because I'm considering my tint options.

p.s. I also run with no front plates (illegal in CA), and I realize that increases the odds for a 'dual fix-it' ticket...
Ya I was thinking the same thing. Apparently, it was changed to 70% fronts in cali back in 1999.

I have 20% all around, and never got pulled over.
I guess the cops just don't care about it.
