like all of us, I have also listened to many sounds clips of various exhausts in my life time ? may be a bit too many. Most of these are LOUD for the sake of simply being Loud and Nothing More. Hitting 6,000 RPM on a car with 6,500 PM Red-Line does Not serve any purpose Except Simply Being Loud ?as some folks are simply trying to show-off their LOUD exhausts ? like boy-racers around town.
I could very easily have made a MUCH MUCH Louder Clip, like many of such which are floating around but chose Not to do so as it does not serve any purpose and realistically does not represent anything ? like most of us don?t drive and listen that way to our engines.
the sound clip which I posted is a realistic "daily-driver sound clip" on RPM and matching speeds within ( & sometimes slightly above the legal US speed limit), like I usually drive. This is really close to what someone actually hears on the outside - unless they are revving up at a red-traffic light to pick up a race. Sorry that it puts some of the members to sleep - I certainly hope that they themselves don't sleep during their own daily drive when they hit less than 6,000 RPM on their way to work or to pick up a carton of milk from the grocery store.
Thanks ats for the comment - but seriously you don't have to defend me. Appreciated though...

and PS: No i don't fall asleep even with this narrow band. The narrow band comes with bigger bam (explosion) of all the torque, and all i need to do is to kick the throttle a bit, not too much, and wooof i'm awake

aR, i appreciate the time you put into making that clip, but would also love to see another one where you drive aggresively so we could hear your exhaust at full song.

Here's a (short and fairly lo-fi) recording of a B5's engine note, thanks to Martin on the M5board:

And that's with a 2 pipe standard setup, and staying below 4000rpm. It's a real beast above 4000rpm!

Almost as obnoxious as the Eisenmann, but I think it sounds a lot better!

those evosport headers don't have cats, so no, not exactly legal. but tons of sports car owners install cat bypass pipes anyway, so its not that big a deal.

huh? the car in the video does have the eisenmann exhaust. its the meistershaft version which is louder than the sport or race versions.
