I forgot to add that who ever you take to do this job it is going to be expensive. This is not an easy install buy any means. I am pretty skilled with a wrench I have rebuilt many motors to give a point of reference to my skill level. this is a 8 out of 10 job. Especially since it is just supposed to be springs.

Would you care to post pics marking out the trouble spots for the fronts?

Yeah, good idea. That would be great so the rest of us don't charged up the ying yang when we take it to a shop.

You guys have been busy! So the $1200.00 quote I got for installation and alignment may not be so far off? I can't wait to see your pictures and more importantly get some feedback on the handling. You sound more like a one man army......didn't you have time to wax the car between making dinner and the game?

My springs arrived today (just checked UPS and they were left at my front door). I'm having them installed this weekend for $400. There's a system out there that tells mechanics what the avg hourly job should take for all sorts of jobs. The system told him it would cost $520 (I actually watched him type in all the info in front of me) based on the hours it would take, but he's only charging me $400. I'll get the alignment done at Firestone afterwards for $69. Thanks LI-M5 (M5board member) for hooking me up with this mechanic! I can't wait!

I'll post pix and results, when I get the car back on Saturday.

I did get it washed and yes that 1200 bucks is about right that is from Bimmer dealer. my friend that works in service told me that is what it would be after I called he confirmed. I have not finished the car yet work, kids, dinner, bath time it is not a high priority, since I dont drive it everyday. My friend is sending me some print outs of how to dissasemble the front so that I can post up. Calton if that guy is only going to charge 400 buck you are straight ripping him off. to you. If I where a shop and charging to do this install I would charge about 800 before alignment.

Oh if any of you guys get crazy like me and run 20's you may want to look into rolling your fenders espcially if you drive your car a lot and hard.

What is the offset of the 20" you are running?
