What does it mean? Is it that we can change the gear shift knob to the SMG type? I'm confused....

I think it means he has the latest version of the parts catalog. The illustration of the M5 gear selector was what he chose to select in order to show a part that would only be on the newer CD.
That's my take on what this thread is all about -- I have to admit I was confused at first also...
