The 3M Automotive double-sided tape I've used is sold at PepBoys or similar stores. It comes in a red blister pack - marked for automotive tape etc. The tape itself is a medium gray color and has a red peel-away liner. A small roll (maybe 50" or so) costs about $3.00. Larger quantities are probably available at commercial body shop supply shops.

"Ordinary" double sided tape found in hardware stores is not the same - it isn't up to the job of keeping things stuck on cars!

What you need is the 3M VHB tape, http://www.google.com/products?q=3m%20vhb%...sa=N&tab=wf
That's all I used to install my RDSport trunk spoiler.

As for instructions, these (courtesy of subarashi) might come in handy, http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=52842&st=0

I didn't use silicone on my spoiler. Note his sanding instructions, this is key in getting the replicas to fit properly on your trunk. Otherwise you will have gaps, and you can't heat it enough to fit correctly - this is due to the manufacturing mold.

thanks guys but i ended up just trying out red 3m and it worked great.after the install it started raining crazy and its still on there so its good.i think the key is sanding for great adhesion on the spoiler and weighing it down atleast overnight so it can settle.

took pic the next day just to show after pic.
