I've been looking into retrofitting USB (and consequently ACM) to my UK 2006 E60. There seem to be conflicting opinions out these as to whether the OEM retrofit kits will work on a 2006 car. Any advice gratefully received!

My Ride: 04 545i sport, stick, L7, sat, nav. Charcoal/ runflat/ cdv delete.
Suede headliner/ trunk, 3 way front speakers, four 8" subs in rear shelf, ACM, iPod dock in ash tray using gateway 500 with MP3 text and video on screen, MRTM aluminum pedals/ door pins, 10 farad cap, sound processor, line conditioner, 2 amps ( 4x100 and 2x200)
Check the ACM and the USB retrofit instructions. Keep in mind the USB portion of the ACM is designed for usb sticks, and hard drives for audio and usb video. The audio goes thru your AUX port, which needs to be retrofitted ( or at least coded ) if your vehicle does not have that option.

Hi,
Does anyone know, is there an ACM module available for cars with the new iDrive system from October 2008 on (2009 model) ?
I have an e90 3-series facelift and I am looking to install the ACM module to my car.
Thanks !

It is a LVDS converter. As it turned out we did not use it. We knew ahead of time it was not likely to be needed, but it was ordered anyway just in case due to the length of time it takes to import those parts from Europe into the USA. I think it might be used for adding side cameras in the side mirrors or fenders of the X5 or another model. It is not needed when adding the E60 factory front side view camera. The front camera used in the M5 was aftermarket, but the first set we ordered included the front side view camera which ended up in my car

Hi to all ACM/USB guys I would like to ask about a problem that i am facing since i installed the ACM plus the USB interfce. First of all i would like to ask you if anyone knows the exact HDD capacity in Gbytes that USB supports (does it support only flash sticks or external HDD, because my 160HDD western digital passport is not readable, might need some extra power throught USB slot!!!). The second problem is that when i choose AUX and then go to the ACM menu to play a video file from the USB interface, it starts and after 3-4 seconds i loose the sound from the video file and i hear from the OEM TV while still movie goes on. The same annoying thing happend each time i select an MP3 through USB interface. The song starts and after 3-4 seconds stops and i hear audio from the OEM Hybrid TV module Somehow and for some reason i loose the AUX after a few seconds...Any ideas? Is that a matter of some kind of coding. Any NCS Experts?
Thanks in advance

Hi.
I have Dension 500 because of much better sound on my Logic7 for my USB.
So I don`t know how big hard-disk you can use.
I think your problem with your sound is in the hidden setup menu. Look at your setting in Level 0 and Level 1. Set position so you get sound from aux.
If you set wrong, you can get sound from CD, tv or radio.
