Hi,

I'm upgrading my basic wheels to the 18" star spoke style 124's. I've opted to go for the non-RFT. Has anyone any experience of the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tyres. The tyres are 275/35 at the rear and 245/40 at the front. The alloys are 9J at the rear and 8J at the front. What are your views. I've attached pictures of the alloys and seperate pics of the tyres. What do people think?

The goodyears are good tyres, but in many peoples opinion the Michelin PS2's are better.
This might help you.

I have Goodyear F1 SC RFT's, 3720 miles, no problems and great performance. I believe you will enjoy the Goodyears.

I have these fellas on the back of my car (pirelli pzero nero on the front) on 19inch rims.

They are pretty good in the dry, but I'm not COMPLETELY convinced in the wet. They look good though.

My main gripe is that they have the sacrificial 'bump' strip to protect the rims and with my crappy parking I have gouged a couple of chunks off, which is a bit of a stress.

No problems with noise or ride though.

I think they'll definately wear out before the front tyres so I'll probly end up swapping them for pirellis so all match.

Check TireRack.com. They have good reviews on tires.
ps. I don't work there.

Unlikely to be the case - the F1's have a 280 wear rating and should hold up pretty well. Also, the Sport Maxx may be first in the category on TireRack - but they have just 170,000 reported miles. The F1's, in second, have this rating with close to 12 million reported miles.
