ok so i was talking about mods with my friend today and i noticed he kept say alpine-a rims, so i said, you mean AL-PEEN-A and we got into this convo about how to pronounce all these company names, and i figured id ask "the experts"

alpina- al-peen-a
hartge- hart-gee? or hart-guh? i think this is the most confusing, i used to call it "hart-ige"
hamann- "ha-mann" or "ham-ann"
rieger- "rye-ger" or "rye-jer"
theres probably a few more im forgeting, add them if you can think of any, but please tell me how to properly say these before i look like an idiot in front of people who know their stuff

I thought rieger = ree_ger not rye-ger. If it were rye-ger, it would be spelled rEIger rather than rIEger. Anyone?

Also, how do you all pronounce roundel? I would say "round-ell" but I believe in German it would be "roondle"

Agreed. It's "ree-ger". I always pronounce roundel as "round-al" (like randel but with the word round instead).

I think the Army rates English as the most difficult language to learn- not because of the words but because of the grammar.

i before e pronounced E
e before I pronounced I
Other than that v, w issue and Umlauts every thing is spoken how it is spelled

English is based on German... so it is really about the easiest foreign language some one from the USA or England can learn.

Useful? Unless you do a lot of petrochemical work, banking, or work on German Auto's you most likely won't get a lot of use from it except in travel situations.
