Agreed, my tank rarely dips below 1/4 tank and always gets filled when it needs it. Just easier, why make several gas stops when you don't need to?

Unless I am in a part of town where gas is a lot higher than I can get close to home I always fill up. I've seen as much as a 20 cents difference in different parts of town.

LOL come to LA you'll see a lot more than that - from my house to Beverly Hills can be a price difference of $2.50

I read somewhere that the fuel filter is located in the fuel tank so the tank should be kept at least a 1/4 full in order to keep the filter cool and help it prolong it's life

Why?

aslong as I don't go long distances I fill it up until it's half full.
I think like a racer, you know..weight saving FTW!!
The half of the gas tank is about 30litres, 1 litre is almost 0,8kg - 30x0,8= 24kg weight save!

I also take care that I don't carry heavy things as long I don't need them, for example a spare tyre.I'm a member of a big road service called ADAC and also covered by BMW mobility service.
Spare tyre= 70kg

all together almost 100kg weight save...
