Both seats are semi electric but 2009 ones are from M model and are heated.

Ive brought the seats and DTC/Heated seats module to fit in dash.

Is it a simple swap and 2wiring from each button to seat to turn on heated seats on and off?

Anyone tried this?

Thanks

Hi

Sorry , it isen't "so" simpel , the heating of the seat are controlled tru signals runed over/by the K_Can_Bus wire's HIGH & LOW , so you will need to make sure these signals are availible at each seat , together with the powersingal +/- , here you will have to look at the BMW WDS ( WDS wirring Diagram Systems ).

Also the bottons for seat-heating from a E60/61 after 03-2007 ( = LCI models ) isen't the same as neede for a E60/61 build before this date also called pre-LCI models( yours is a 2006 = pre-LCI model ) , in the pre-LCI models the seat-heating bottons sit directly in the SZM modul ( in fornt of the gearlever ) , were the bottons in the LCI models sit in the cover in front of the gearlever , and the control unit/function is integrated into the KGM modul located behind the glovcompartment.

So you will need to purchase a SZM modul with the bottons needed ( 2 x hearting + DTC and perhaps PDC/RDC etc. , depending on your cars extras ) , and then perhaps run 2 wires to each seat ( K_Can_bus HIGH ( black wire ) & LOW ( yellow wire )), were to connect , look at the WDS.

Also the car will have to be coded for seat-heating afterwards !

Kind Regards

Fitting heated seats from 2009 to 2006 car-seat.jpg

The connector in red circle - anyone know if this is for the heated seats, i have fitted the module in dash for heated seats, seats are fitted only thing not working is heating...

Does it only need programming?

Thanks in advance

Hi

The wires for the heated seats are in a 9 pin ( black ) connector , and is not a part of the big yellow connector.

If you at this point not have K-Can_Bus HIGH & LOW ( twisted yellow & black wires 0.35m2 ) wire to your seats ( both front seats ) , this must be done , also a power ( red/greeen ) & ground ( brown ) ( both wires 2.5m2 ) wire must be made/runned from the same power & ground wires at the big yellow connector over to this seperate 9 pin connector

Where to pin in , in the 9 pin connector , please se the wire diagram.

Sorry , don't have the part no. for this connector but try at a BMW garage.

If your lucky , no programing is needed due to the used SZM with the heating botton's should be programed for this option all ready.
