Where did you connect the Interface POWER to????? Need to be precise here!

Also,

Did you remove the BLACK multiconnector which supplies power to the iDrive unit (on the back of the iDrive?)???

I power the interface via the power connector on the screen PIN1 for + and PIN3 for -.

I have put everything back to normal now, I have checked PIN1 and I am still getting power from it now. So can you tell me why it is not working anymore.

From your email sent through the forum earlier, I guess you're actually in the UK? Please, if you want my help, PM me a tel number so that I can call you. It is so much easier for me to deal/talk directly with someone rather than exchanging one liners on a forum or email.

Hi guys,

I am interested in the groupbuy too, but a few questions...

1. What is the method of payment?
2. When approximately are we looking at ordering as I am a bit tight on budget at the moment?

PS: I have Nav Pro, hence it will have to be PAL 8.8

Hi
You can pay with any major credit card or paypal. So far we don't have more than 5 so it doesn't look good. Pal 8.8 is NO problem now.
Thanks Dominic

Hi,

I read now all the threat, and what I get out of it:

- Install the interface
- use original bmw Aux-In for sound

So far, so good, so great

BUT, how does this interact with the original iDrive System? Did I miss this section?

Suggestion: I'm using normal iDrive, setup the navigation.
- How do I now switch to the DVD Player and back?
- Do I still get the audio navigation information?
- Is voice controll still working?
- Do I need the TV Free hardware interface (my car has no factory TV)?

I'm really thinking about getting this stuff...

Hi
We know have mod for NTSC and Pal. The units also now come in 6.5 and 8.8. This will give you 4 video inputs. Yes you will have video in motion. For the sound you can use either an aux sound adapter or FM modulator. Feel free to call me at 718-763-7367. You switch between video's via remote control. The nav still works in the back ground.
Thanks Dominic

It overrides the screen.
When you switch the module on, you will get the picture from the module on your screen, no more idrive, but idrive is still fully functional in the background. The idrive doesn't know you are not seeing the idrive info on your screen.
That means you get a full wide screen, but can't see nav and other stuff, unless you turn your module off. Therefore, yes, it works while the car is in motion.
If you have HUD you get the nav arrows/guidance in the HUD, while the idrive screen can be used with the module at the same time...
