Finally Sound Clips of AFE on a 550

My Ride: 530i M-sports package, carbon black,Beige leather dakota, Steptronic, active steering, anti-theft alarm, sunblinds for rear window and back seat window, interior and exterior mirror with anti-dazzel function, poplar brown dark, comfort seats, PDC, extended lights package, Hi-Fi loudspeakers, Innovation Package (contains Xenon, Headlight washers, adaptive headlights, Comfort access), automatic air-conditioning, professional radio, individual high gloss satine chrome,Sunroof
I am tempted to buy one now because of all the positives i hear about it.
But i have been told by friend mechanic that these filters being AFE, K&N, or anything allow more ''dirt'' to go inside the engine causing problems like non-stable idle and such on the long term.
Can i have an opinion on that please as i always have used OEM filters and never really been hardcore at engine modding.More at engine swapping

Damn it guys. Im having problems with the sound clips!!! I will redo the after install sound clip again, for the before one, its lost for good...

Sounds awesome! I can definitely hear that exhaust of yours. The AFE really kicks in above 3-4K rpm. Try and redo another clip or two later. I want to hear that beast scream!

My Ride: 2006 550 SMG
As far as power and response, I dont know by how much, but the car does seem faster. It also has a great growl that starts right around 2.200rpm. As for video clips, I have no way of transfering them to my computer, so I will have to make more sound clips. The sound is mainly produced when the engine is under load, so starting up and just revving it doesnt produce the growling. My only wish was that this was available when I first bought the car. By the way bavauto.com now has it for $359.95 with free shipping, that is the cheapest anywhere!!!
