Anyone tried this tool? http://www.eastwood.com/fender-finisher-1.html
There is a vid at the bottom of the page.

I'm curious to know if it is easier or harder to use than the traditional fender roller that mounts to the hub? I think I would have more control with the Fender Finisher....but I don't know.

It cheap too...like $35 compared to $215 for their roller

I don't think I'd use that, it's basically a crimper - I picture a really wavy fender edge unless you spend like 8 hrs per fender and even then it's iffy

That's kind of what I was thinking too...but looking at the vid, it doesn't look like that happened

Yeah I saw that, maybe if I had an old crappy car to practice on. No way I'd be trying it on my E60 for the first time, our fenders are waaaaaay to expensive for that. Not sure in your area, but we have a few options here for rolling fenders at around $40/fender. Not as cheap as that tool, but MUCH cheaper than a new fender

I don't know...I noticed on the video, the reflection was all swirly. Maybe from repeated practice on that car or it will make some sort of noticable crease on the fender. Also, I noticed the section under the video:

"Customers who bought this item also bought:"

Heat Pro Deluxe Variable Temperature Heat Gun kit...used to heat the fender paint for $49.99

Eastwood's Pre Painting Prep...maybe the customer cracked the paint and would need to repaint?

Even if it's cheap, I don't think I would risk it and rather pay $40 per fender to have an experienced pro do a proper roll.

thanks guys....I thought about getting one and taking it to my local pick-n-pull and practicing on cars there before I touch my e60...but after reading your comments, I think I'll just try and find a shop around here that can do it with a proper roller instead.

I was wondering if your 19x11 w/ 305 would rub? Is it just the rears or the front as well? Your car looks awesome dude! I wouldn't skimp on the roll.

Thanks man....

It only rubs with the 10mm spacers on the rear, and even then it is just barley, at the top of the arch on the edge of the inner fender lip. It only rubs when I hit dips on the fwy. The rears don't rub at all without the spacers. Front's don't rub at all and don't need spacers.
I've got some 5mm spacers ordered. I'll try them and hope they don't rub. If they do, I'll get the fenders rolled. I think the rears need to be pushed out slightly....hopefully the 5mm will be enough, if not then the 10's will go back on along with a roll.
