Jason, I did not install them, simply not possible without adaptor. So I am hoping some member that has it installed, will help me out. There must be stock or aftermarket adapter, well I guess.

By the way its no retrofit!!! There is an adapter that is offered by BMW that will connect the cars original sockets to the new leds tail lights.

Part number. 61 12 0 140 223 is the adapter number!

I have all the parts but have not yet installed it - planning on installing the lights Saturday

Good Luck Guys

Is it just an adapter or is it a retrofit component with a module (definitely will need programming if it comes with a module) ? Just wanna know whether the blinking issue will be corrected with the original adapter...

61 12 0 140 223 - seems to be E46 retrofit cable, not E60, or its same?

That part is actually the same E46 part which I modify for people. The more time I spend on this the more closer I am to quitting. The circuit is getting more and more complicated.
For the techies:
The lights are powered by a combination of AC and DC voltages and without a recode of the LCM any circuit connected to the current LCM is not behaving correctly. The AC component is interfering with the DC voltage. The LCM low and high are actually the same voltage its just the duty cycle that has been altered i.e. to produce 3V the LCM is actually chopping the 12V feed into 1/4th and sending it to the bulb.

Its an adapter - I tried comparing it to the E46 adapter this one is a bit different - the color of the wires are different - the adapter looks different.

Okay so what's the difference between an adapter and a retrofit?

Will this adapter make it simple for me to plug n' play the new LCI unit to my car without any issues such as blinking, error messages or the need for programming?

I'm anxious to hear about your install Merdashti!

A retrofit is an official release of specific hardware to get something working on a car not originally specced out with that component.
The adapter is a interface we are playing around with. No garantee it will work in this case.

I'll ask BMW Aachen in Germany tomorrow if indeed the retrofit kit is released...

Well.. going back and looking at this adapter - it certainly has the E46 part number but seems to have different colors and wirings

I was supposed to have the LEDs installed Saturday - but now am hesitant! I think I might just have to wait.

Sorry guys for giving you hope! I guess I was overly excited
