My Ride: 2005 BMW 530d M-Sport TouringExterior: Titansilber Metallic, M5 mirrors, ACS rear roof spoiler, BMW Carbon Fiber rear diffuser, Adaptive Xenon headlights, AngeliBright v.3 Angel Eyes, F1 Autohaus Euphoria 6000K LED license plate lightsInterior: Black

Recently, when I had the M5 mirrors installed, I was hopeful that somehow the LED "puddle light" feature in the mirrors would work.

My BMW service department manager said, "no way", the Tech doing the install said, "maybe, but it depends if your car has the module for the exterior/extended light package."

I sent a quick PM to Iceman about this light package, and he replied with these details:

The "exterior" light package is officially called "light package" and includes:

Coming Home function
LEDs in the mirrors (puddle lights)
LED above the door handles
Light in the front footwells

But I still can't remember if it was a stand-alone option or included in a package only.

In the end, the LED puddle lights in the mirrors work flawlessly - cool.

QUESTION: What about these other lights? I doubt that the door handle LED lights are a possible retro-fit (?), but I would really like to have the foot well lighting function operational when the car is unlocked or doors opened. Does anyone have an opinion or idea about this?

And for that matter, does anyone actually have this "extended light package"?

Any comments are welcome!

There is a DIY that someone did on here for a full retrofit on the interior.

I found it - it is a DIY by bruce miranda!

And I realized after reading through it, that there is no hope for me to do-it-myself...

Oh snap.

I not only change all dull yellow bulb to cool white led , but also added one CCFL inside the front door speaker.
