For my B&B muffler I had a cone built to put in-line before the muffler to quiet it down. The cone has holes of varying sizes drilled into it (kind of like a strainer) to slow the flow enough to quiet things down without killing the sound TOO much! It was built at B&B so I trust the concept and certainly the quality of it! Good luck with your decision!

If your looking for a small SS resonator type in "test pipe" on ebay. Tons of them for about $25 shipped

Unhappy

Ok here is the update:

We added two more resignators as the posts above suggested as well as the factory bmw resignators/x-pipe (from the m5). The car no drown and is loud at 2500 rpm instead of 2000. Still a problem, the drowning is unberable.

The only thing left according to my muffler guy is to change my borla xr-1s to dyna max mufflers which are aluminized which I dont like but he says there is no other option to put something there that will fit.

Any other suggestions?

Maybe just get a different setup as Borla's can be too loud.

My muffler guy says he will need to take out the xr-1s and put in aluminum mufflers. I don't like having aluminum because it wouldn't look right with the complete stainless steel that I had put in and paid for. He says there are no stainless steel mufflers that are about the size of the Borla XR-1s that would have chambers to eliminate the sound. Are there any other solutions to eliminating the droning sound?

Chambered mufflers flow very poorly compared to straight through. Switching over to chambered units would probably make you lose power compared to even your stock system (if that matters to you).

I guess that is what I have to do even though I will then have a stainless steel setup with aluminum mufflers that according to the muffler guy will rust. But if that?s what it takes to get rid of the droning then so be it.
