What exhaust system do I need to get for my E60 535i to get a similar sound that my 2006 E46 330 has? I just love the way that car's exhaust system sounds....not too loud but just subtle enough to have a rich tone.

Your ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

have the reasonator removed... it will give you a more sporty tune...

it's the 2nd last muffler... have it straight piped...

Hartsa has a Supersprint -exhaust system on his 520i.

It sounds really nice and isn't too expensive either.
Only the last muffler needs to be changed.
The pipes are bigger, too.

I'm also very interested to get more of a growl from my 530.........it's too quiet! If keeping the standard system what box/muffler do i remove?

The next last muffler.... not the end piece but the one that comes before that....

If that doesn't do the trick there are varietys of aftermarket exhausts...

This is the cheapest way to get a little sportier tune...

i have a custom quad remus exhaust for my 535. i was lookin' for the same thing you are, i didn't want anything too loud and sound too "ricey".

i have two Remus mufflers and deleted my square resonator and the sound is perfect!

here's some vids..
