Go with RPI, get a their PC ecu flash, air scoop, drop in filter, and exhaust....their PC tune is designed to work with their other mods and will compliment and optimize the performance of your e60

you can PM member RPIpower for more info..

here's some info on their ecu flash that they offer

The only issue with my car is that it is a '05 525i with a 2.5-liter I6, which only pumps out 185hp (ugh...). I need to be able to squeeze as much juice from this puppy as possible.

Droning has gone down a lot after 900 miles. And I have really gotten used to it now. If that exhaust note was gone tomorrow, I would cry.
There is a mental "conditioning" period where you may get a headache or two but after you get through that it's awesome!!

That's generally what happens with most higher quality exhausts.

After some usage, the muffler packing area fills up with soot, quieting things down from the initial point.

With some of the cheaper exhausts (with loose-pack fiberglass), the glass actually burns off, making the exhaust louder.

I had a little freak out period when I got mine because I wasn't used to the occasional drone at certain RPM's.
But it's all good now And the drone has gone down.

And there is no drone for the 525i/530i anyway so you will really LOVE it!
This makes me feel better. Right now, I feel that my RPi exhaust is kinda loud, no drone. It's about 100 miles since it was installed. I can't wait to get used to the awesome growl.
