Hey guys I am planning on getting some decent exhaust for about $500-$600 if I could including installation.

I was thinking of getting some Borla but read some threads about loosing horsepower, how much horsepower can it really loose?

If I get the borla what size of the muffler should I get?

http://www.borla.com/products/produc...?cat=2&type=43

I am trying to do some quads for my 530i, any suggestions would be good, it don't really matter if it looses some horsepower as long as it don't loose up to 10 or more.

Hopefully in about a year or earlier I will buy a full exhaust system.

Thanks

Quads? on a 530i? No no

RPI single side exhaust is the only one ive seen that gains horsepower, you will probably lose more than 10hp with other exhausts altogether, especially if you go quads

Really more then 10hp? I'm just really going for the sound and something simple not too expensive till I get the full system.

I really like the quad set up, so your saying any quad set up would loose 10 or more hp no matter what?

I already have the mtec bumper coming in

probably yeah but dont quote me on that

quads are fine if you are going to do it correctly and then tune, which it sounds like you arent, and thats a lot of money wasted for something thats going to make your car slower

the mtech rear has a single sided diffuser as oem so just use that and get the RPI exhaust

+1. If you are after performance go with RPI and Mtech rear. If you are after "M5 rear" look, then there are a lot of quad set ups i've seen, none of them seem to gain power though

About the sound, while beiing inexpensive - Magnaflow would fit the description. It sounds really mean while still inexpensive.

I'm fine with that it's a 530i the 05 one still slow 225hp.
(maybe I can get a supercharger which will cover the hp that I lost )

I guess I have the M5 rear then heh, I was thinking of either magnaflow or borla quads.

Hope it sounds good though. sigh what to do.....

Thanks for the help and advices guys, power really not a big deal since I don't have those big v8 you guys got, I should have got V8 (regretted for the hp)

So whats the best or usual diameter I should get for the quad mufflers?
