JUST DO IT BROTHER... i believe my tranny was in poor condition even b4 i installed the TS2 kit, perhaps it wasn't maintained well before. also the fuel in malaysia does not have enough octane & the high ambient temperature will knock down the power/torque by about 15% from ESS's specs so dont worry too much about the tranny
hi Richard..fancy meeting u here.been off the radar for a bit, work work work.just came back from Hanoi just now, going to Macau tomorrow, hopefully it doesn't rain.

well,i'm going for it!! i've emailed AJ@ESS and am waiting for his answer to a little request i've made to him.hopefully its positive.i'm quite certain the gearbox will hold up if i don't add anything else to the mod..i mean 360Nm isn't much,so i hope the ZF will be able to handle it.my STi made 450Nm at the wheels, and it used to be my daily driver,so i hope 360Nm won't be too much of a hassle.

wonder if anyone is working on a software upgrade/update for the 6speed ZF currently used on our cars.would love to see the shiftspeed improved, especially in DS or steptronic mode.also, does anyone know if changing/upgrading the torque converter would enable the tranny to take more power/torque? i wonder how Alpina does it?

What kind of problems with the steptronic? I installed a Quaife LSD in my steptronic 545i. I wanted to change the final drive ratio but was advised not to do it because it might confuse the computer. The supercharger alone shouldn't hurt the transmission. My 545i puts out at least as much power as a supercharged 525i.

Can you add a transmission cooler if you expect a lot of heat?
yeah..it gets pretty hot and humid here in Malaysia.i'm just gonna jump in and get the TS2 in..then i'll just see from there whether i'll need an oil cooler for the tranny(i suspect i will.. ).

the 6speed ZF is pretty strong as can be seen on many new Alpina BMWs..they've done a fantastic job with the ZF on all their cars,so we know the ZF has got potential.if only there are outfits out there that can offer similar 'upgrades' for our trannies.

the Quaife is pretty costly..i might consider it down the line.

not looking to build a streetfighter..just a nice fast GT type car.
