I thought mine got louder after the repeated runs last night. After the car settled down, though it seems like the sound returned to the subdued low tone. Also smelled awful like a burned clutch. I am hoping it was the new muffler being thoroughly blown out.

I think mine is going to end up sounding like yours JDN when I get around to making the clip. Thanks for posting that BTW. Sounds great! How much did you pay and where did you get it?

$694.03 delivered from Bavarian Auto bavauto.com. I spent another $100 restoring the large resonator and installing the Remus. My muffler had already been replaced because the dealer imagined the broken flap as a fault. That replacement was not welded and had a collar connection. The Remus also had a collar connection or it could be welded. I opted for the collar because it could be so easily reversed. The installer probably spent ten minutes installing the Remus which dropped in nicely. I encourage you to get the exhaust of your choice, GER_545SMG, but definitley get one. It gives another dimension to the E60 driving experience. I'll bet realty will agree -- others, too.

Thanks guys. There may have been some confusion JDN, I just received the Eisenmann a couple of days ago and had it installed. I completely agree as well, man, I use to take the long way homw anyway - now I'm making up trips.

I think the combination of SMG and an exhaust adds the extra dimension. Man those downshifts are just unbelieveable. I'm now wondering when it is going to et me in trouble. It sounds crazy when I gear down for a redlight approach.

My Ride: 2010 E63 AMG -- Palladium Silver/Black. Love this car but looking to switch things up to keep things fresh. 2nd AMG in a row, but toying with coming back into the BMW fold!

There is no doubt that adding an exhaust system adds a totally new dimension to the car. I only wonder why BMW does not offer a Sport Aero Kit with a thicker sport steering wheel and sport exhaust themselves. It seems to me that it would be a real winner. Perhaps that is in the offing for 2006. <_<
