Hi guys,
Is there a breakin period for aftermarket exhausts? I just got my Eisenmann Race installed and there is only a slight hum at 1000 rpm. Then it goes away.
I just drove 70 miles on it only.

take out the rectangular middle resonator. that's what I did on mine after a while.
and for even more sound, get the AFE intake as well when it comes out for your car

Here is a youtube clip of my eisenmann race on a 545i.
Square resonator was removed.
You would have to drive it for awhile before it gets any louder.

Thanks guys. What packing would be inside an exhaust.. please educate me here.
Delje08: Nice video. Did yours also just had a hum at 1K rpm and then later became louder? Mine basically looses any sound after 2K rpm. I thought it would get louder as I drove faster?

+1 on the above comments. Give your exhaust some time to "break in" before making any changes. I would also recommend removing the square resonator. But let the exhaust break in and then make your own decision as to whether or not you want it louder. If so, you can always remvoe the above mentioned resontator.

My question is (or confusion), why should I remove a resenator? If I had to do that to get a good sound, I could had removed them with stock exhaust as well?
