Go for the ecu remap, i have 530d and by NO MEANS Does it cosume more, in fact it considerably increases the mpg, in my experience i get 30% more miles on average out of every tank,
Thats no joke, and it doesnt have anY negative effects to The engine.
Paid for itself within a month for me, never looked back since.
Its quite a regular mod that most diesil owners have done, if not for power then the economical aspect of it.
I highly reccomend it.
