Can somebody please post the flash contents for any late model E60 to this thread?

I would like to spend some time poking around at the boot code and reverse-engineering the operating system to see if this is something I want to invest time/money researching further. Not so concerned on getting a specific version of the operating system just as long as it is from a late model E60 (I don't imagine I can be too picky...afterall not everybody has the hardware to suck down the code and all I'm interested in is a high-level view of how things work at this point anyways).

Additionally, this posting assumes that the boot code and operating system is stored in flash, and that the contents of flash have not been encrypted, so if the boot code and operating system is not in flash, can somebody please hint at where it is stored? Also, if the contents have been encrypted/obfuscated, the cipher or obfuscation technique would be helpful to know. Thanks.

Any idea if there is another forum or web resource better suited for ECU-related hacking? Seems this forum is mostly cosmetic/bolt-on-focused, hence the ask.

You might find this interesting: http://ecubb.bmwecu.org/board/

I've not spent a lot of time here, but it looks like the detail level you want may be here.

Do get back on how you make out.

Thanks, Tom
