I'm not if this is damaging to the car in anyway, but I eliminated the gap associated with the Mtech Kit by removing the 2 rubber weather strip looking things under the hood.
Anyone know if this is not a good idea (hood damage, engine problems, paint damage, noise...)?
Thanks

My Ride: 530i M-sports package, carbon black,Beige leather dakota, Steptronic, active steering, anti-theft alarm, sunblinds for rear window and back seat window, interior and exterior mirror with anti-dazzel function, poplar brown dark, comfort seats, PDC, extended lights package, Hi-Fi loudspeakers, Innovation Package (contains Xenon, Headlight washers, adaptive headlights, Comfort access), automatic air-conditioning, professional radio, individual high gloss satine chrome,Sunroof
I think you 'd better pit it back because you may have removed the rubbers that prevent water from going into the engine bay.
Or maybe not.How about a picture to see exactly what you removed?
Also if you search there is a DIY that can help you eliminate the gap

Hi,
If you look at the first pic of superhung's DIY, it's that rubber piece.
I've tried the washer method, but it slightly makes the hood harder to close. And as for the foam absorbers, the installer just left them out. But I'm ordering absorbers from Garri of Newport that are made for the Mtech Kit (so hopefully those will fit).
I'm probably going to put back those rubber pieces until I find out if they do or don't cause any damage.
Thanks
Mike
Eko- thanks for the PM

My Ride: 2013 M5 - Sakhir Orange / Black Leather.
I had the same problem and tried the washer method - didn't work. Finally figured out that there is a lot of play around the torx bolts. All I had to do was push back on the top of the grills and hold it there while I tightened the torx bolts. Took a couple of tries to get everything aligned, but the gap I had is gone.
