No, the cables are completely plug and play. They are awesome and took 5 minutes to install. Very easy to return back to your factory setup should you want to do that. Bruce_miranda does such a great job that these cables look OEM.

They cost me about $37 total including shipping from the UK (Where Bruce is) and took about a week to get here.

They only work with the OEM LED units that come from the e92. I think those units run another $20 or so for both. So it is a more pricey option that using straight LED bulb swaps. However, the headache from the error codes is 100% eliminated.

I will post photos if I get the chance to take them.
