E90 Shifter fits E60?

like the title says, ive been told that the E90 shifter may fit our E60. does anyone know if this is true or can anyone confirm its not true? thanx in advance for the help.

if you are referring to manual shifter then yes I know it will fit because I have one, if you are talking about auto shifter I don't have an answer for you.
