E61 wagon custom exhaust advice needed
Alright. I have a 2009/10 (manufacture date 12/09) E61 wagon. I thought I had settled on my new muffler. I purchased a Borla ProXS dual 2.5" inlet/outlet.
I wanted to remove the resonator and run dual pipes to the exhaust. My exhaust in stock configuration according to my muffler shop is dual 2.25" tubes to the resonator. Than a single 3.5" to the stock exhaust.
I was told that going to dual exhaust and a smaller diameter tubing will throw codes and lose me HP.
My question. What have other wagon owners done for custom exhaust. Also is what I am being told true about codes and losing power?
With my bolt on's I want to hear the exhaust note more and of course a gain in power would be nice, but not necessary. I certainly don't wish to lose power.
What have other wagon owners done for custom exhaust????

Wow, you have all the same mods as me, i just swapped mine to manual. I just put a Dinan muffler on, i got it for a good deal locally. I personally like it a lot, it's mild and has a decent burble with my MHD tune.

Do you have the axle-back Dinan or full exhaust? I'm trying to get a sense of what the axle-back sounds like. I can't find any sound clips of that.

$1,300 MSRP is a lot for essentially a single muffler. For that much, I expect a full cat-back system with a can on each side and quad tips. But, if it sounds great, I may get it.

$1300 was the MSRP? I got mine for $300 locally from a wrecked wagon, ones pop up here a few times a year, might be worth it to find one locally before spending that type of money.
