Default E60 Xenon to Halogen Downgrade

Hi Guys,

This is my first post on this forum and I am looking forward to spending time here and learning from the experienced forum members.

I recently bought a 2005 545i from an insurance salvage company. The car has sustained light front damage (bumper, hood, left fender). The headlights are missing (I assume they were removed when the initial assessment was done)

I have scrounged around trying to find a set of OEM Adaptive Xenon Headlights but I am unable to find a set for an affordable price. $500 each seems to be the going rate for used examples and they are out of my budget. I was offered a set of OEM halogen headlights in mint condition and I was able to buy them for less than $100 for the set. I am sure that many forum members will take exception to this but since I have already bought the halogens, I figured I would give it a try.

I now need some help to perform this conversion. I assume that the wiring at the headlight plug needs to be changed and the LCM coded for the correct PWM?

Any assistance would be appreciated

Cheers

Andrew

Yes, you are correct. You need to change the wiring and code the LCM. You'll have to find a wiring diagram. Can you get the Bentley Manual in SA?

Actual workshop manuals from the manufacturer. It is a bit hard to navigate, but there is a lot here:
