Can those of you that have the following please assist:

E60, sat nav pro, 6 cd auto changer.

If you then have either the OEM aux kit or the Dension Icelink, do you then lose the CD changer as the kits use the same port on the HU as the changer?

This is the case on the E46 I have with the icelink installed.

I have Nav and the CD changer with the Logic 7 package. When the dealer installs the Aux Input, it's another input so you don't lose your CD Changer. You'll then see Aux Input as another sound source from the iDrive menu. Hope that helps.

Adding the AUX In also requires a minor software update so that the car "sees" the AUX In.

With Aux Inp you will have another input, then you don't lose anything (CD, Cd changer, radio)
The installation is very simple but its not a "do it by yourself", it is necessary a software run by the dealer.

The sound quality is as good as any other source from the head unit, I think excellent.

Not true--excellent sound quality, and I paid $200 installed.
