I have a Dinan TB. It is indeed a bored out/modified stock TB. I doubt you would feel the difference from only this mod. Dinan doesn't claim huge gains for it. I also don't know if you would need their software re-program to take advantage of it - you should call them. If you do, of course it's not a $400 mod, it's more like a $1000 mod. Up to you as to whether it is worthwhile. Personally I would say probably not by itself. Good luck w/ your decision.

IMHO, this is a waste of money unless you intend to increase / improve the motors VE (Volumetric Efficiency) by improving the intake system, porting the heads, fitting more aggressive CAMs, fitting aftermarket extractors and full exhaust system.

If you don't intend to do all of these other mods, you're better off just losing weight from the vehicle... much more cost effective.

Big bore TB's are better reserved for forced induction motors.

For my engine (N52) the swap costs about 400 from Dinan and they claim smth like 7 hp gains. In the case of N52 engine though, there're so few mods out there, that its almost like every horsepower counts, every pound hurts performance (we have drivers on this board doing P90X program to improve their car's performance ). Anyway, this wouldn't be the first thing I'd look at - start with an RPI scoop+BMC filter combo, chip it, put an exhaust on it and then do the throttle body - that's how I'd do it.

Searching is the most efficient way to review discussions about the topic. And you will most likely find your answer. Nobody is going to help you by calling them "shady".
wow, you need to relax... We taking out our frustrations on the board? i was referencing the WWW not this forum. I would rather hear from what i believe to be a informative forum. I feel alot of info on the web in relation to these cars is skewed. Like that of the AFE intake it says its good online but after consulting members on here i wouldnt us it as a paper weight. so chill out if you have any info i would like to hear if not relax and and quit trying to make me look like a forum trader...Thanx

My mistake. I thought I was helping by explaining why searching was useful on this website.

Surprised people responded directly to my post rather than helping the original poster.
